Position Overview
\nWe are seeking to hire a multifamily development analyst in our Houston, Texas office. This analyst will have the opportunity to work on all stages of the multifamily development lifecycle: market research, site selection, financial analysis, site feasibility, design, permitting, capitalization, construction administration, operations, and disposition. The Houston office has a significant development pipeline and operating portfolio, providing the opportunity to experience all facets of development quickly.<\/p>\n
Key Responsibilities
\n\u2022 Performing market research
\n\u2022 Maintaining and developing databases for transactions and development opportunities
\n\u2022 Researching site-specific information and development constraints
\n\u2022 Underwriting in Excel multifamily development opportunities
\n\u2022 Coordinating site development feasibility and overseeing various consultants
\n\u2022 Coordinating with architects, engineers, interior designers, and other consultants
\n\u2022 Assisting with design direction and reviewing plans
\n\u2022 Overseeing permit processes with various governmental authorities
\n\u2022 Coordinating with OHT Construction to price various design elements and produce budgets
\n\u2022 Reviewing construction budgets, subcontractor bids, and value engineering proposals
\n\u2022 Writing, preparing, and assembling debt and equity offering memorandums
\n\u2022 Coordinating due diligence and closing with lenders and investors
\n\u2022 Performing site visits on construction sites and tracking completion of resulting action items
\n\u2022 Reviewing monthly construction draws and managing the overall budget and schedule
\n\u2022 Coordinating design changes with consultants and the construction team
\n\u2022 Reviewing and approving submittals from subcontractors for various key finishes
\n\u2022 Selecting and ordering furniture, fixtures, and equipment for the projects
\n\u2022 Coordinating turnover from construction to property management
\n\u2022 Assisting property management with rent setting, expense management, and budgeting
\n\u2022 Visiting completed assets to ensure proper presentation and operations
\n\u2022 Oversee property tax protests and insurance renewals
\n\u2022 Coordinating dispositions with the brokerage community and buyers
\n\u2022 Assist in answering investor requests for information<\/p>\n
Qualifications
\n\u2022 Degree in Finance, Accounting, and\/or Engineering preferred
\n\u2022 2 plus years of experience in Finance, Real Estate, or related field
\n\u2022 Real estate capital markets, lending, acquisitions, and\/or development experience preferred<\/p>\n
Preferred Skills
\n\u2022 Excellent financial modeling skills, including thorough knowledge of Excel
\n\u2022 Proficiency in PowerPoint and Word
\n\u2022 Experience with Yardi, OneSite, and Axiometrics\/Market Analytics a plus
\n\u2022 Excellent quantitative, analytical, critical thinking, and problem-solving abilities
\n\u2022 Strong written and oral communication skills
\n\u2022 Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills
