This position blends traditional loan processing responsibilities with analytical review, issue identification, and proactive deal management.<\/p>\n<p>Under the general direction of the assigned Underwriter, the Analyst is responsible not only for coordinating and assembling complete HUD-compliant loan packages, but also for<strong> evaluating information quality, identifying risks and deficiencies, prioritizing workflow, and supporting underwriting decision-making<\/strong>. The role requires independent judgment, strong regulatory knowledge, and the ability to synthesize complex information across multiple third-party reports, borrower submissions, and HUD requirements.<\/p>\n<p>This position is designed for a professional who wants to grow beyond execution into <strong>analysis, problem-solving, and ownership of deal readiness<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<h2>Responsibilities<\/h2>\n<p><strong>Key Responsibilities<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>Loan Application Management, Due Diligence &amp; Analysis (75\u201380%)<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Coordinate the full FHA loan application process in accordance with HUD program requirements, FHA regulations, and Newmark internal procedures, progressing transactions to \u201cready-to-close\u201d status.<\/li>\n<li>Receive, review, and complete initial setup of incoming loan applications and exhibit packages, ensuring accuracy, completeness, and HUD compliance.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Analyze incoming borrower, property, and third-party information to identify inconsistencies, gaps, risks, or timing issues<\/strong>; proactively flag concerns and recommend next steps to the Underwriter.<\/li>\n<li>Coordinate workflow and deliverable preparation with Newmark\u2019s<strong> Global Support Team<\/strong>, including assigning, reviewing, and validating support work to ensure accuracy, completeness, and alignment with HUD requirements and internal standards.<\/li>\n<li>Manage pipeline prioritization by evaluating deal readiness, required deliverables, and submission timing; maintain clean pipeline data including purging closed or inactive files.<\/li>\n<li>Actively participate in borrower, attorney, consultant, and internal conference calls; contribute substantively to discussions by understanding deal structure, timing constraints, and HUD requirements.<\/li>\n<li>Proactively obtain missing or supplemental documentation from Borrowers, Attorneys, General Contractors, lenders, and third-party consultants.<\/li>\n<li>Order and review HUD-required credit, compliance, and verification items for principals and entities (OFAC, SAM\/EPLS, LexisNexis, VOD, SPC, etc.), escalating issues as appropriate.<\/li>\n<li>Prepare and manage Requests for Proposals (RFPs) for third-party reports; ensure consultants are fully briefed, deadlines are tracked, and deliverables are received as required.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Review third-party reports at a high level (appraisal, market, environmental, PCNA, plans\/specs) to identify missing elements, inconsistencies, or underwriting-relevant concerns prior to Underwriter review.<\/strong><\/li>\n<li>Maintain accurate and accessible deal documentation using Newmark\u2019s electronic filing and pipeline tracking systems.<\/li>\n<li>Track deal-level accounting, including availability of funds for third-party invoices; process payments timely and maintain a complete audit trail.<\/li>\n<li>Assemble and submit complete, well-organized loan packages for internal underwriting review and HUD submission within established turn-time expectations.<\/li>\n<li>Assist with HUD deficiency responses following Firm Application submission through issuance of Firm Commitment, including coordinating responses and tracking resolution.<\/li>\n<li>Maintain strict confidentiality of borrower and transaction information.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>HUD Program Knowledge, Research &amp; Quality Control (10\u201315%)<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Maintain working knowledge of FHA multifamily programs, MAP Guide requirements, HUD handbooks, Mortgagee Letters, and internal Newmark policies.<\/li>\n<li>Research HUD regulations and program guidance as needed to support underwriting, processing decisions, and issue resolution.<\/li>\n<li>Track HUD form requirements and expiration dates to ensure submissions remain current and compliant.<\/li>\n<li>Assemble and maintain documentation required for internal and external Quality Control reviews, including annual third-party QC audits.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Apply regulatory knowledge to real-time deal issues rather than relying solely on checklist execution.<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Team Contribution &amp; Process Improvement (10%)<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Serve as an active member of the BPC Underwriting and Loan Coordination teams, supporting overall pipeline management and team efficiency.<\/li>\n<li>Provide targeted administrative or analytical support to Analysts and Underwriters as needed.<\/li>\n<li>Identify inefficiencies, recurring bottlenecks, or risk points in the underwriting and processing workflow; recommend process improvements.<\/li>\n<li>Participate in short-term initiatives focused on operational improvement, standardization, or HUD process enhancements.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h2>Core Competencies<\/h2>\n<ul>\n<li>Strong written and verbal communication skills, including professional interaction with borrowers and third-party consultants.<\/li>\n<li>Strong analytical and critical-thinking skills with the ability to synthesize large volumes of information.<\/li>\n<li>Detail-oriented and highly organized, with the ability to manage multiple transactions and competing deadlines.<\/li>\n<li>Ability to work independently, exercise sound judgment, and take ownership of assigned deals.<\/li>\n<li>Demonstrated ability to identify issues early and escalate thoughtfully and clearly.<\/li>\n<li>Comfortable operating in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.<\/li>\n<li>Proficiency with Microsoft Word and Excel;
