Working closely with the Senior Vice President, Business Development and Senior Investment Officers (SIOs), this role develops and executes a targeted business development strategy to build relationships, generate a robust transaction pipeline, and support both near\u2011 and long\u2011term growth objectives. The role partners cross\u2011functionally to advance transactions from initial sourcing through execution and closing. Key responsibilities include:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Partner with the SVP and SIOs to identify, prioritize, and cultivate prospective customer and partner relationships, including developing and executing targeted outreach and calling plans<\/li>\n<li>Source, assess, and advance a robust pipeline of investment opportunities by building relationships with operators, developers, brokers, and other industry decision\u2011makers<\/li>\n<li>Collaborate with SIOs and Asset Management to understand existing operator relationships and further strengthen Ventas\u2019 partnerships<\/li>\n<li>Develop a strong working knowledge of Ventas\u2019 acquisition process, including underwriting parameters, deal structuring, documentation, and coordination with internal partners (Accounting, Tax, Legal, REIT Compliance)<\/li>\n<li>Conduct initial screening and evaluation of investment opportunities and collaborate with senior investment leadership on deal structuring and investment strategy<\/li>\n<li>Support underwriting teams and internal and external advisors to manage risk and drive timely execution of transactions<\/li>\n<li>Partner with senior leadership on strategic initiatives and special projects, as needed<\/li>\n<li>Serve as a visible and credible ambassador for Ventas within the healthcare real estate and investment community<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h2>Qualifications<\/h2>\n<ul>\n<li>Bachelor\u2019s degree in finance, accounting, business, real estate, or a related field; advanced degree preferred<\/li>\n<li>Minimum of 7 years of experience in real estate and\/or healthcare finance, investment banking, development, or acquisitions, including at least 3 years in a business development\u2013focused role<\/li>\n<li>Must be located in the Chicago, IL or New York, NY surrounding area or willing to relocate for the duration of employment.<\/li>\n<li>Willingness to adapt and thrive in a blended work environment with 3-days in office, seamlessly transitioning between remote work and in-office operations.<\/li>\n<li>Demonstrated ability to source, evaluate, and advance complex investment transactions<\/li>\n<li>Strong analytical skills, sound business judgment, and demonstrated financial acumen<\/li>\n<li>Proven ability to build trust, influence, and communicate effectively and persuasively with internal and external stakeholders<\/li>\n<li>Self\u2011starter with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a results\u2011oriented, collaborative environment<\/li>\n<li>High degree of professionalism, integrity, initiative, and accountability<\/li>\n<li>Strong interpersonal presence and team orientation aligned with a collaborative culture<\/li>\n<li>Willingness and ability to travel approximately 60%<\/li>\n<li>Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without need for employer sponsorship now or in the future<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Source: <a href=\"https:\/\/ventas.wd503.myworkdayjobs.com\/en-US\/ventas_careers\/job\/IL---Chicago\/Investment-Officer_R0001513\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Ventas Career Page<\/a><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>The Investment Officer is an externally focused investment professional responsible for sourcing, developing, and advancing acquisition and investment opportunities across the healthcare real estate landscape.
