In this role, you will review and comment on underwriting and reviewing the issuance of securities to customers.<\/p>\n<h2>THE IMPACT YOU WILL MAKE<\/h2>\n<p>The Multifamily Affordable Housing Underwriter &#8211; Advisor role will offer you the flexibility to make each day your own, while working alongside people who care so that you can deliver on the following responsibilities:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Perform forensic underwriting reviews and identify potential red flags to prevent the enterprise from acquiring loans with potential fraud, deficient property values or increased borrower exposure risk.<\/li>\n<li>Advise on potential risks and costs involved with providing services to a customer.<\/li>\n<li>Analyze the risks and costs of a lending decision and make recommendations on process improvement related to decision process.<\/li>\n<li>Advise on process related to issuance of the securities or other financial loans to the customer.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h2>THE EXPERIENCE YOU BRING TO THE TEAM<\/h2>\n<p><strong>Minimum Required Experience<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>6 years of relevant Multifamily underwriting experience with particular emphasis on Multifamily Affordable housing properties<\/li>\n<li>Expertise in Multifamily Affordable Housing Finance: comprehensive experience in underwriting and structuring complex transactions with specialized focus in Tax-Exempt Bond Financing, Low-Income Housing Tax Credits (LIHTC), Subordinate Debt Financing, and Section 8 HAP Contracts<\/li>\n<li>Curiosity and adaptability learning and responsibly applying new techniques, including artificial intelligence, to reimagine how we work<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Desired Experience<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Bachelor&#8217;s degree or equivalent<\/li>\n<li>Comprehensive knowledge of commercial mortgage Multifamily underwriting including property financial analysis, borrower credit, third party reports, and market analyses<\/li>\n<li>Knowledge of DUS\/GSE underwriting guidelines<\/li>\n<li>Demonstrated ability to work in a fast paced, results driven environment<\/li>\n<li>Demonstrated ability to balance the demands of multiple client requests at any given time<\/li>\n<li>Knowledge of other federal, state, and local Affordable housing programs<\/li>\n<li>Proficiency in financial analysis and modeling<\/li>\n<li>Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making abilities<\/li>\n<li>Ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines<\/li>\n<li>Multifamily Affordable property valuation \u2013 knowledge of valuation methods and how they apply uniquely to Affordable housing<\/li>\n<li>Loan Structuring \u2013 understand complex financing and multiple layers of debt and equity<\/li>\n<li>Governance and Compliance experience including creating policies, evaluating compliance, developing data governance, preferred<\/li>\n<li>Skilled in Excel (intermediate or advanced); Sales Force<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Source: <a href=\"https:\/\/fanniemae.wd1.myworkdayjobs.com\/FannieMaeCareers\/job\/Washington-DC\/Multifamily-Affordable-Housing-Underwriter---Advisor_JR2470-1\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Fannie Mae&#8217;s Career Page<\/a><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>As a valued contributor to our team, you will advise team members on managing communications and\/or negotiations between Fannie Mae and clients regarding loans and other investments.
