The Talbot Group is the visionary manager and developer behind Barkley Village, a vibrant 250-acre mixed-use urban village in Bellingham, WA.\u00a0Over the past 30 years, we have cultivated a dynamic blend of residential, retail, office, and community assets, and now proudly own and manage\u00a0the majority of\u00a0the property within the village.\u00a0As we embark on an exciting phase of master planning and entitling property for significant growth over the next 10-15 years, we are seeking a detail-oriented and flexible individual to join our team as a Development Project Manager.<\/p>\n

About the role:<\/p>\n
As the Senior Property Manager, you will provide leadership for the day-to-day operations, financial performance, and long-term success of a diverse mixed-use portfolio that includes retail, office, and residential properties.\u00a0You’ll\u00a0partner closely with ownership while leading property operations, cultivating strong tenant relationships, managing capital improvement initiatives, and\u00a0identifying\u00a0opportunities to maximize asset value.<\/p>\n

What you will be doing:<\/p>\n
Property Operations<\/p>\n
Lead the day-to-day operations of\u00a0a mixed-use commercial property, ensuring exceptional standards for maintenance, safety, cleanliness, and overall tenant experience.
\nEstablish and enhance operational policies and procedures that support efficiency and service excellence.
\nConduct regular property inspections and ensure compliance with applicable regulations and building codes.
\nOversee vendor relationships, negotiate service contracts, and manage capital improvement projects from planning through completion.
\nFinancial Management<\/p>\n
Develop and manage annual operating budgets and financial forecasts.
\nMonitor operating performance, analyze variances, and implement cost-control initiatives.
\nOversee rent collection, accounts receivable and payable, and financial reporting.
\nIdentify\u00a0opportunities to enhance revenue, improve operational\u00a0efficiencies, and maximize long-term\u00a0asset value.
\nTenant Relations & Leasing Support<\/p>\n
Build strong relationships with retail, office, and residential tenants while delivering\u00a0a high level\u00a0of customer service.
\nAddress tenant requests and concerns promptly and professionally.
\nPartner with leasing teams to support tenant retention efforts and new leasing initiatives.
\nCoordinate tenant move-ins, move-outs, and tenant improvement projects.
\nLeadership<\/p>\n
Lead, coach, and develop property management staff, engineers, and support personnel.
\nFoster a collaborative, high-performing team environment.
\nCoordinate the work of security, maintenance, and third-party service providers to ensure seamless property operations.
\nStrategic Asset Management<\/p>\n
Partner with ownership and asset management leadership to execute business plans and operational strategies.
\nProvide recommendations on property positioning, operational improvements, and market opportunities.
\nSupport capital planning initiatives and long-term asset management strategies.
\nCompliance & Risk Management<\/p>\n
Ensure compliance with all legal, environmental, and safety regulations.
\nLead emergency preparedness and risk management efforts.
\nMaintain\u00a0accurate\u00a0property documentation and operational records.<\/p>\n
Experience You Will Bring<\/p>\n
Bachelor’s degree in Business, Real Estate, Property Management, or\u00a0a related\u00a0field.
\nSeven (7) or more years of commercial property management experience, with mixed-use experience strongly preferred.
\nExperience managing large, complex commercial assets or portfolios.
\nStrong financial acumen with experience managing operating budgets and financial reporting.
\nProven leadership experience with the ability to coach, develop, and motivate high-performing teams.
\nExcellent communication and relationship-building skills with\u00a0a strong\u00a0customer service orientation.
\nExperience\u00a0utilizing\u00a0property management software and reporting systems.
\nAbility to effectively prioritize multiple projects in a dynamic environment.<\/p>\n
Preferred Qualifications<\/p>\n
Certified Property Manager (CPM), Real Property Administrator (RPA), or similar professional designation.
\nExperience managing mixed-use developments integrating retail, office, and residential components.
\nKnowledge of local commercial real estate market conditions and leasing practices.<\/p>\n
