We are looking for contributing writers and a section editor for our Real Estate section. Every applicant chooses one role: Contributing Writer or Section Editor.<\/p>\n<p>You work in real estate or cover it: residential, commercial, luxury listings, development or the agents behind them.<\/p>\n<p>You would write on notable listings, developments, neighborhoods, agents and the people and brands moving the market.<\/p>\n<h2>Contributing Writer<\/h2>\n<ul>\n<li>400 to 600 word pieces, reported and sourced, with a real credited photo. Story ideas welcome; editors reply on every submission.<\/li>\n<li>Pitch or file through our contributor portal. Every piece goes through editor review before it publishes.<\/li>\n<li>Byline on every piece and your own author page on the site.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h2>Section Editor<\/h2>\n<ul>\n<li>You own the Real Estate section page: its editorial calendar, editing and approving contributor pieces for accuracy, sourcing and voice, commissioning writers, and growing the section&#8217;s audience.<\/li>\n<li>Editors never sell advertising. Coverage stays independent.<\/li>\n<li>Qualified editors receive a short questionnaire about their experience and their plan for the section.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h2>Who fits<\/h2>\n<ul>\n<li>Published bylines required. Include 2 to 3 published clips; applicants are judged on their clips.<\/li>\n<li>Published samples in Real Estate we can read today (your own outlet, a trade publication or a newsletter).<\/li>\n<li>You already work in or around this industry and know its people, brands and calendar.<\/li>\n<li>Plain, confident writing. No hype, no politics.<\/li>\n<li>Remote. US-based preferred.
