Unique real estate academic features

The UCLA MRED program delivers a rigorous foundation in real estate practice, emphasizing the broader dynamics of urban development and its capacity to advance positive social and environmental outcomes in cities across the United States and globally. The curriculum combines four quarters of required and elective courses with the option of a three-month summer internship at a real estate firm, completed in tandem with the capstone project.

Coursework builds expertise in real estate finance, development, design, law, economics, market analysis, project and asset management, sustainable investment, building technologies, construction management, and the political and institutional forces shaping urban growth. A complementary career development series further strengthens professional skills in communication, public speaking, negotiation, leadership, ethics, collaboration, and entrepreneurship—preparing graduates with both the technical knowledge and personal qualities valued in the industry.
