Essex Property Trust, an S&P 500 real estate investment trust (REIT), invites highly motivated college students to join our in Asset Management. This is your chance to work on meaningful projects t8- to 10-week, paid summer internship program hat impact real-world business decisions while developing valuable skills in the dynamic world of real estate.
This is a full-time internship, Monday through Friday, with a pay rate of $26.00 per hour.
WHAT YOU WILL DO
As an Asset Management Intern, you’ll work closely with multiple departments to gain a comprehensive understanding of how asset management functions within a top-tier real estate company. You’ll have the opportunity to:
- Conduct Site Visits – Participate in property visits to assess performance and define key objectives for improvement.
- Support Asset Strategy – Assist in the creation of Asset Plans and investment ideas aimed at maximizing asset value and Net Operating Income (NOI).
- Contribute to Investment Processes – Assist in discovery, due diligence, underwriting, and preparation of investment materials for revenue-generating capital projects.
- Analyze Market and Portfolio Data – Help generate reports on market conditions, portfolio performance, and investment returns to support strategic decision-making.
- Take on Special Projects – Participate in ad hoc projects that will enhance your analytical, financial modeling, and strategic thinking skills.
WHAT YOU WILL NEED
- Education – You must be enrolled in a four-year accredited undergraduate program, majoring in Business, Accounting, Economics, Real Estate, Finance, Engineering, or Mathematics. Rising juniors (Class of 2027) and seniors (Class of 2026) are encouraged to apply.
- Skills & Attributes – Strong analytical, communication, and organizational skills are a must! You should be detail-oriented with excellent problem-solving abilities.
- Work Environment – This is a hybrid role, requiring you to be in our Irvine office three days a week (Monday – Wednesday).
