Head of Research & Consulting (Real Estate), Japan Full Time

C&W Research & Consulting’s goal is to support the firm’s growth by providing timely expertise in real estate market research and analysis to its service lines and clients. It has successfully secured new business through the provision of accurate and reliable statistical real estate market data and reports in line with the firm’s standards, exceptional market knowledge, and concise presentations. This position, as Head of Research & Consulting, will play a central role in leading the Research & Consulting division.

Job Description

Required knowledge and experience

• 15 years of research-related experience.
• Expertise in one of the following areas: commercial real estate, economics, data analytics, or spatial analytics.
• A minimum of a university-level degree is required (graduate school master’s degree, majoring in real estate, economics or finance preferred).

Primary Responsibilities

• Management of a research team of analysts.
• Lead strategic research initiatives. Develop and implement research and thought leadership plans in consultation with business units. Coordinate major research projects across multiple departments and disciplines.
• Creation and distribution of analytical research materials for customers.
• Increase our global presence by collaborating with domestic and international research teams and sales departments.
• Update asset class databases, quality control, validation and improvement of internal data (including automation).
• As a member of the research team, he creates and reviews deliverables for domestic and international clients.
• Participating in client presentations and other meetings that provide timely market information, updates and insights.
• Support efforts to develop and strengthen new research services.
• Respond to Requests for Proposals (RFPs) for research and consulting engagements and manage the delivery of high quality consulting reports that meet and exceed client expectations.
• Work with the Marketing & Communications department to develop and maintain relationships with media and public relations personnel in the market.
• Customer presentations in Japanese and English.

Skills and Qualifications

• Ability to work in a team and basic communication skills to connect with stakeholders in different positions.
• Excellent writing, analytical and oral presentation skills are essential.
• Excellent time management skills, including the ability to multitask and prioritize effectively.
• Able to pay close attention to analysis and operations.
• Intermediate or higher ability to use Excel, Word, and PowerPoint. Specialized knowledge and experience with analytical software, including Power BI, is a plus.
• Ability to multitask and have attention to detail.

Language and requirements

• A university-level degree is required as a minimum, with a degree in economics or finance being a plus.
• Native Japanese, business level English.
