Director / Head of Capital Markets – Originate‑to‑Sell (Debt Origination) Full Time NEW

Kirkland Capital Group (“KCG”) is a founder‑led commercial real estate lending platform focused on disciplined credit execution and capital preservation. We originate short‑term bridge loans and are building an institutional‑grade originate‑to‑sell platform designed to produce saleable loans at origination and scale cleanly through people and systems.

We are seeking a senior capital markets professional to own the design, execution, and scaling of our originate‑to‑sell debt programs, working backward from institutional buyer requirements and forward through real loan execution.

This is a hands‑on capital markets leadership role with direct responsibility for buyer relationships, program structure, and execution quality — not a coverage or support position.

Key Responsibilities

• Own the end‑to‑end originate‑to‑sell platform, from buyer engagement through loan execution and sale
• Develop and manage institutional buyer relationships, including credit criteria alignment, commercial terms, and program parameters
• Design loan programs backward from buyer requirements to ensure loans are saleable at origination rather than remediated post‑close
• Pressure‑test underwriting standards, documentation, and operational handoffs through live transactions
• Translate early transactions into repeatable, scalable operating processes that run cleanly through an in‑house LoanOps Origination team
• Identify execution risk, friction points, and structural constraints early and resolve them systematically
• Collaborate with senior leadership on capital markets strategy, product selection, and scale sequencing

Qualifications

• 7+ years of experience in commercial real estate or mortgage lending
• Direct experience owning or operating institutional buyer‑backed loan programs, correspondent lending platforms, or whole‑loan sale execution
• Strong understanding of underwriting, credit risk, and secondary market execution
• Demonstrated ability to design systems that scale through people and process, not heroics
• Bachelor’s degree required; advanced degree (MBA, MSRE, MSF) preferred or equivalent experience
