As a Development & Asset Manager, you are jointly responsible for developing and executing real estate projects. You work closely with a senior member of the D&R team to identify new development projects and assess their feasibility. Your tasks include conducting market analyses, assisting in site evaluations and selection, and creating construction and development plans.
You assist in obtaining building permits, selecting architects, and managing the development process. You collaborate with project teams, contractors, designers, and other professionals to ensure that development progresses according to schedule and budget.
A crucial part of your role as a Development & Asset Manager is conducting market research to understand demand for real estate products, ESG standards and markets, deriving opportunities for new developments. You need to stay updated on real estate markets, trends, and challenges to gain valuable insights into the development of sustainable real estate projects.
As a Development & Asset Manager, you will gain extensive knowledge of best-in-class real estate development, project management as well as asset management developing financial analysis and negotiation skills.
Role and Accountabilities
Development:
- Act as an active team member involved in ongoing projects / developments on the continental Europe development portfolio under the supervision of your line manager.
- Provide support of administrative, contractual, and organizational tasks (such as handling of compliance documents, full cycle handling of RFPs, contract, cost controlling and invoice approvals, etc.)
- Support and documentation of feasibility studies.
- Reporting / recommendation to Fund management team
- Monitor and control costs, schedules, and qualities in various ongoing developments across the European continent.
- Assist in leasing activities (defining leasing strategies, co-ordination of leasing agents and marketing actions, lease negotiations).
- Assist the acquisition team on defining business plans and negotiating development and refurbishment projects (review general assumptions, CAPEX, timing, technical constraints, design & specifications, project team structure, risk analysis, etc.).
- Driving the performance of Third-Party Service providers including implementing RFPs, due diligence, and performance evaluations.
- Contribute proactively to the continuous improvement of the organization and structures within the D&R team (development of standardized processes and templates within in the team across Europe)
ESG and NZC:
- Help the team in researching and finding new ESG ideas and innovative approaches.
- Ensure highest ESG standards within the development in line with the approved budget.
- Ensure compliance with the LaSalle Sustainability policy in asset management. Monitor key reporting under LaSalle’s Four Pillars ESG Framework and LaSalle’s NZC strategy. Enhance the sustainability of assets and achieve agreed sustainability objectives both environmental and social.
Asset Management Initiatives:
- Help implement initiatives identified in the business plan, including marketing strategies, refurbishment/redevelopment projects, consideration of alternative uses and all other opportunities to create and protect value. You will also be required to recommend and justify these initiatives for approval.
- Active participation in sales processes.
Innovation and technology:
- Maintain the in-house data on performance of the specialist properties. Utilise our digital investment and asset management platform (genie). Be curious and have an interest in the latest proptech that drives the operational effectiveness for the assets. Help the team in bringing new ideas and finding innovative ways to enhance sites’ values and create on-site efficiencies on operational assets.

Required Qualifications & Experience:
- A master’s degree in real estate management, civil engineering, architecture, business school or a related field.
- Minimum 2-3 years’ experience in the asset management real estate industry with a strong technical background and ideally first experience in managing asset development / redevelopment.
- Full professional English proficiency.
- German language skills (at least B1 level)
- Knowledge of European continental market practices (property management, leasing, development, sales, regulations).
- Highly developed verbal and written communication skills + strong negotiating skills.
- Adaptable team player with the ability to operate autonomously when needed in a high-pressure environment.
- Strong numeracy, financial and computer skills including MS Excel and an ability to understand key performance drivers.
- Strong interpersonal skills, both a verbal and written format.
- Ability to work collaboratively with other internal teams including portfolio/fund teams and analysts, finance, strategy, and client services.
- Excellent multi-tasking skills and ability to work on a variety of projects simultaneously.
