Goldman Sachs Financial Institutions Group provides financing and advisory services to institutions, including banks, insurance companies, asset management firms, financial technology companies and specialty finance institutions. The group offers a wide suite of products, including M&A advisory, financing, structured finance, risk management/hedging and principalling and co-investing.

Our bankers work with clients in achieving their most important strategic and financial objectives. They are actively involved in mergers and acquisitions (M&A) transactions and fixed income and equity issuances, participating on our advisory teams and structuring and executing a full range of financial transactions. Their responsibilities include supervising analyst and associate teams in creating and analyzing financial models, organizing and preparing client presentations, helping manage transaction processes, and structuring transactions. They will gain exposure to the firm’s businesses and expand their knowledge of the investment banking industry, as they develop key analytical, communications and marketing skills.

Basic Requirements

  • Master’s Degree and 2+ years of FIG investment banking experience; OR Bachelor’s degree and 5+ years of FIG investment banking or equivalent experience
  • Strong track record of executing M&A and financing transactions in an investment banking advisory role
  • 2+ years’ experience in leading deal teams of analysts and associates
  • History of outstanding academic and professional achievement

Preferred Requirements

  • Experience working with companies in the Financial Institution sectors, specifically Asset Management, in the US
  • Strong team orientation and a demonstrated ability to work effectively with team members in multiple groups and regions
