Reporting to the Director of Mergers & Acquisitions, the Manager of Mergers & Acquisitions (“M&A Manager”) will be responsible for supporting mergers, acquisitions and investments focused on growth of the core WeWork business and its technology offerings. To perform this role effectively, the M&A Manager should have a robust technical background in fundamental valuation analyses and meaningful transaction experience across the M&A lifecycle. The M&A Manager will also support the creation of an M&A playbook and strategy focused on revenue- or technology-accretive targets in the real estate, technology, enterprise and consumer verticals.
The M&A Manager will be responsible for underwriting the valuation of potential M&A targets and should have experience in building discounted cash flow analyses, multiples valuations based on public company comparables and precedent transactions, merger models and accretion/dilution analyses. The M&A Manager will also work cross-functionally across the technology, real estate, sales, finance and operations organizations to assess the competitive landscape, identify gaps in the current portfolio and compare strategic alternatives through a build vs. buy vs. partner framework.
The M&A Manager will support the deal principal in executing potential transactions. As such, the M&A Manager should have a working knowledge of the deal lifecycle across sourcing and underwriting valuations for potential targets, structuring and modeling economic terms, managing functional due diligence and reviewing definitive documents. The M&A Manager will support the deal principal in debriefing functional teams on terms and receiving requisite approvals from key stakeholders, including executive leadership and the Board of Directors, prior to Signing. The M&A team will be supported by the Technology Strategy and Project Management teams throughout the deal process.
