Portfolio Manager (FTC) Full Time

Role Overview: Focussed predominantly on the portfolio management of various portfolios. Whilst there are recurrent themes across each portfolio’s strategy, each has a different strategy and is at a different stage in its life-cycle resulting in a varied workload. In a flat team structure, your role will involve overseeing the performance and operations of a portfolio. Delivering the agreed strategy to maximise returns and mitigate risks. A key element will be working with asset managers to deliver business plans, appraising options and obtaining required internal approvals. You will also be required to coordinate and take responsibility for client reporting and preparation of materials for external client reports and presentations as well as LaSalle Investment Committee. You will report to and work closely with client relationship manager at LaSalle whilst also working closely with asset managers and third party stakeholders to drive growth, optimize asset utilisation, and make data-driven investment decisions.

Depending on the candidate the role could range from Associate to Portfolio Manager and will be supported accordingly. August start preferable.

Key Accountabilities:

• Regular and ad hoc portfolio and property level financial analysis to assist with decision making and investment strategy implementation.
• Coordination and preparation of external client reports, presentations, and strategy documents, as well as internal investment committee materials.
• Portfolio administration and management of processes, through liaison and coordination with LaSalle/JLL departments and external counterparties/suppliers (e.g., clients, valuers, performance measurers, consultants, auditors, etc.)
• Provision of ad hoc support to the Transactions team on analysing, underwriting, and presenting potential acquisitions, and to the Team on investment management workstreams pertaining to existing AUM under the Team’s remit (including cash flow modelling, preparing business plans, buy/hold/sell analysis, reporting, and performance measurement).
• Asset Performance Assessment: Regularly evaluate the performance of assets within the portfolio through liaison with the asset managers. Identify underperforming assets and consider asset liquidity, implementing strategies for improvement and/or disposal.
• Risk Management: Monitor and manage both current and potential risks within the portfolio. Conduct thorough risk assessments for new acquisitions and advise clients on potential risks and opportunities related to their investments. Maintain an up-to-date understanding of legal, regulatory, and compliance requirements.
• Client Communication and Relationship Management: Supporting the Client relationship manager and Head of UK Custom Accounts in the communication with clients, building and maintaining strong relationships. Communicate portfolio performance, investment strategies, and market insights to clients in a clear and concise manner. Understand and address their concerns, expectations, and objectives.
• Team Collaboration: Collaborate with teams including fund management, asset management and research, to ensure seamless execution of portfolio objectives. Foster a positive team environment, providing guidance, support, and mentorship to junior team members when necessary.
• Market Analysis: Stay informed about economic, demographic, and industry-specific factors that may impact the portfolio performance.

Required Qualifications & Experience:

• BSc or ideally a master’s degree in an analytical discipline, preferably Property, Finance, or Investment related;
• MRICS qualification
• Proven experience working in real estate investment, demonstrating sound decision-making and financial analysis skills. 5-10 years’ experience.
• Strong understanding of real estate investment analysis, risk management, and market dynamics.
• Strong financial modelling and forecasting capabilities.
• Proficient in using real estate analytics software and tools.
• Strong negotiation, communication, and presentation skills.
• Ability to work independently, make effective decisions, and take ownership of performance.
• Demonstrated self-motivation and ability to prioritize and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
