Our Chicago office is seeking a Senior Associate to join their Portfolio and Asset Management group within our Private Debt business. We are looking for a self-starter, who is highly collaborative, analytical and has a strong interest in Real Estate.
The responsibilities of a Senior Associate include, but are not limited to:
- Lead and manage a portfolio of real estate debt investments
- Assist in preparation of, and monitor, annual business plans for the underlying real estate that serves as collateral for the debt investments
- Ensure compliance with client investment management agreements
- Review appraisals and valuations
- Assess the current and projected performance of properties
- Build a robust monitoring process with a focus on early warning and proper risk rating
- Help prepare reports and documents that are presented to investment committee
- Build relationships with sponsors/borrowers in tandem with the origination team
We are seeking individuals who meet the following criteria:
- Minimum 3 years of real estate debt experience
- Bachelor’s degree in business, finance/accounting or real estate
- Excellent communicator with strong writing skills
- Well-organized, detail oriented and deadline driven
- Enjoys working in a dynamic team environment
- Ability to prioritize tasks, work on multiple assignments, and handle ambiguity
- Enjoys working both independently and as part of a team with professionals at all levels
- Able to operate in deadline driven environment
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced team setting
- Proficiency in Argus, Word, Excel and Power Point
