The Vice President, Development (the “Vice President”) is part of the Heitman Asset Management department, which oversees a portfolio of properties across North America and includes a broad range of asset types. This position reports directly to the Senior Vice President and plays an important role in the implementation of each asset’s business plan.
Working closely with the firm’s Asset Managers, property specialists, JV partners, and third party service providers such as leasing, management, and development teams, the Vice President has the role of development specialist, participating in Company teams responsible for enhancing the value of each asset. The Vice President will contribute to the team’s expertise in the strategy, planning, budgeting and financial analysis, coordination, and oversight for each asset’s development opportunities.
While this position will initially focus primarily on retail assets, it may also include other property types. Development projects may include redevelopments, expansions, site densification, outparcel buildings, mixed-use and joint venture opportunities, parking variances, etc. Repositioning of existing assets may include reconfigurations of existing buildings, oversight of tenant improvement work, common area enhancement and property re-imaging.
