The Role
The analyst position requires real estate finance fluency, advanced Excel, and genuine excitement about using modern AI and software tools. You will collaborate directly with our principals and across development, leasing, operations, and marketing, connecting entitlements, design, capital, construction, and disposition decisions.
Finance Related Responsibilities
• Perform financial underwriting and investment analysis for new development opportunities
• Prepare investor and lender packages that summarize market research and projected development performance
• Coordinate with stakeholders throughout the financing and closing process
• Manage project development budgets and the monthly draw process throughout the development lifecycle
• Contribute to reforecasting of project development budgets and analyzing variances
• Support the Directors of Leasing & Operations with leasing and operating performance projections throughout each project’s lease-up
• Project overall development cash flow and identify key challenges and opportunities to enhance project performance
• Manage the marketing budget and conduct ROI analysis on marketing initiatives
• Manage the disposition process, including analysis and coordination through closing
Development Related Responsibilities
• Support Development Managers in monitoring the critical-path schedule and pre-development budget, proactively identifying risks, and recommending mitigation steps
• Contribute to permitting management and coordination with authorities having jurisdiction
• Manage the closing checklist & process to ensure timely and complete deliverables
• Coordinate with Development Managers on investor relations and monthly reporting
• Assist Development Managers in coordinating designers, consultants, and the broader pre-development team as needed
Artificial Intelligence Related Responsibilities
• Build upon and continuously improve existing internal tools, particularly site screening and underwriting models
• Develop AI-assisted tools and automations that the development team can use to improve the speed and accuracy of project reporting, investor communications, and manual workflows
• Stay current on emerging AI capabilities relevant to real estate development and recommend practical applications to the principals
Qualifications
• Undergraduate degree, ideally in real estate, finance, economics, accounting, or related quantitative field. MS or MBA in a related field preferred.
• Proficiency in the entire Microsoft 365 suite of applications, especially Word, PowerPoint, Outlook, and an advanced understanding of Excel
• Proficiency in Adobe Acrobat. Bluebeam Revu proficiency is a plus
• Strong attention to detail, organization, process orientation, and time management skills are critical to success
• Self-motivated, professional, and positive attitude
• Ability to multi-task and thrive in a fast-paced entrepreneurial work environment
• Comfort using AI tools (e.g., large language models such as Claude) for research, analysis, and workflow automation, with a demonstrated ability to learn new software quickly
• Familiarity with coding, Python, or building lightweight desktop apps and internal tools is a plus. An understanding of code architecture and software design principles is also highly valued
