This Cookie Policy explains how Adventures in CRE uses cookies and similar technologies (such as pixels and tags) on www.adventuresincre.com, adventuresincre.shop and our other sites that link to it. It should be read together with our Privacy Policy.
What are cookies?
A cookie is a small piece of data that a website asks your browser to store on your computer or mobile device. Pixels and tags are small pieces of code that send information to the company that provides them. “First-party” cookies are set by our sites; “third-party” cookies are set by other companies.
Your choice
- What happens on your first visit depends on your region. Where the law requires consent, our cookie banner asks for your choice and analytics and advertising cookies stay off unless you click “Accept all”; “Reject all” (or “Essential only”), or making no choice, keeps them off. Elsewhere, analytics and advertising cookies may be set by default, and you can turn them off at any time.
- You can change your choice at any time with the “Cookie preferences” link at the bottom of every page (and, where consent is required, the cookie badge in the bottom-left corner).
- Your choice applies across our adventuresincre.com sites, and is carried over when you follow a link between adventuresincre.shop and adventuresincre.com.
- We remember your choice for up to 12 months. Some browsers, such as Safari, delete it sooner, and you will then be asked again.
- If your browser sends a Global Privacy Control (GPC) signal, advertising cookies stay off unless you choose “Accept all” yourself.
Cookies we use
Essential (always on)
These are needed for the site to work, so they cannot be switched off in the banner.
- Sign-in and security: WordPress sign-in cookies (wordpress_logged_in_*, wordpress_sec_*), session cookies (PHPSESSID), Cloudflare security cookies (__cf_bm), Google reCAPTCHA on forms and sign-in, and a short-lived acre_geo cookie that records your approximate region (country and state or province, from your connection) so we can apply the right cookie settings. It does not identify you.
- Cart and checkout: WooCommerce cookies (woocommerce_cart_hash, woocommerce_items_in_cart, wp_woocommerce_session_*).
- Payments and fraud prevention: Stripe (__stripe_mid, __stripe_sid) and PayPal, at checkout.
- Your cookie choice: acre_consent and the aviaCookieConsent / aviaPrivacy* cookies remember what you chose.
First-party order attribution (always on)
- WooCommerce order attribution cookies (sbjs_*) and our acre_attrib cookie record how you reached the site (for example the referring site or the campaign tags in a link) so we can tell which of our channels led to an order. They are stored only on our sites. They are not sent to advertising partners, except that a LinkedIn ad click identifier is reported to LinkedIn only where advertising cookies are allowed for you (see the Privacy Policy, section 5).
Analytics and advertising (subject to your consent where required in your region)
- Google Tag Manager, Google Analytics and Google Ads (_ga, _ga_*, _gcl_au): measure how the site is used and how our Google ads perform, and let Google show you A.CRE ads.
- LinkedIn Insight Tag (cookies set on linkedin.com): measures our LinkedIn ads and lets LinkedIn show you A.CRE ads.
- Meta Pixel (_fbp): measures our Meta (Facebook and Instagram) ads and lets Meta show you A.CRE ads.
Embedded content
- Some pages include videos from YouTube, Vimeo or Wistia, or use Sentry for error monitoring. These providers may set cookies or collect information about your device and viewing when the content loads or plays, under their own privacy policies.
Blocking cookies in your browser
You can also block or delete cookies in your browser settings. If you block essential cookies, parts of the site, such as signing in and checkout, will not work. For more information, visit www.aboutcookies.org.
Changes to this Cookie Policy
We will post any changes on this page and update the “Last updated” date at the top.
