Michael to SF – Spencer to Dallas

I thought I’d write a quick post and update our readers on some exciting news around here. As many of you may (or may not) know, Michael and I met while working on our graduate real estate studies at Cornell University. We started adventuresincre.com because we wanted a conduit through which we could interact with likeminded real estate professionals, a medium through which we could continue thinking about, and studying new techniques for analyzing real estate investments,  and a platform through which we could give back to the industry. The blog has accomplished all of that and more, and we’re more committed than ever to continuing to grow and develop the blog into a resource for new and seasoned real estate professionals alike.

For the past year, I’ve been working for a large institutional real estate investor in Milwaukee while Michael has been finishing his dual MBA and masters in real estate degrees at Cornell. This summer both of us are making some exciting moves that we’d like to share with you all.

Michael to San Francisco

Michael recently moved to San Francisco to take an investment/development role at one of the more well-known global real estate investment, management, and development firms. Originally from Philadelphia, PA, Michael spent last summer interning for a boutique real estate investment firm in San Diego and so he’s no stranger to California – at least for a kid from Philly!

If you’re in the San Francisco area, reach out to Mike – he’s always up for talking shop, sports, and music.

Spencer to Dallas

Having spent the last year in chilly Milwaukee, Wisconsin, my company is sending me to Dallas to work with our real estate investment team there. My role will change to the extent that I will be more involved in directly sourcing new investments, interfacing with clients and partners, and focusing on a specific geographic region rather than underwriting investments nationally. I am very excited for this new chapter in my life, and my wife and kids are equally as excited for warmer weather.

Likewise, if you’re in Texas, look me up. Maybe we can do a deal together.

Busy Summer = Less Content until September

As a consequence of the big changes in our lives this summer, we’ll be posting fewer posts than usual. We still expect to publish two new posts per month over the next few months (rather than the 4+ per month we usually publish) and we’ll get back to normal in September.

In addition, the Graduate Real Estate Program Series‘ schedule will change slightly. We will be featuring NYU in July, rather than June, pushing the remainder of the schools’ profiles back one month.

If you have any questions, comments, or want to say hello, feel free to reach out via email or LinkedIn.
