Step-by-Step Tutorial – Posting a Resume

  1. Login or register for an account.
  2. If not redirected automatically, go to Post a Resume
  3. Enter your name and an email address where employers can contact you
  4. Enter resume details
    1. Professional Title – include a short but descriptive title to name your resume (e.g. Experienced Development Professional)
    2. Location – enter the city, state, or country where you’d like to work; if agnostic to location, leave blank
    3. Photo – if you’d like to include a professional headshot similar to LinkedIn, select ‘Choose File’ and upload an image
    4. Location – enter either the physical address of the job or the city/state/zip if in the U.S./Canada or country if outside the U.S./Canada; the form will provide auto-suggestions as you make your entry
    5. Objective – an optional entry, the objective is the purpose for the resume (e.g. “Experienced multifamily acquisitions professional seeks director-level position at real estate private equity firm.”)
    6. Resume Category – select a position type for this resume (e.g. acquisitions, development, asset management, etc.)
    7. Skills – enter up to 10 skills to assign to this resume; employers can search by skills so use industry recognized keywords to describe your skill set for this position
    8. URLS – if you have a personal website, enter the address
    9. Education – enter details about your undergraduate and graduate studies; you’re given the option to upload a resume in .PDF or .DOCX later so this section is optional
    10. Experience – enter details about your work experience; you’re given the option to upload a resume in .PDF or .DOCX later so this section is optional
    11. Video and Resume File – you’ll complete the resume details section by entering a URL (if applicable) to a video resume as well as upload a resume if you so choose
  5. Click ‘Preview’ to preview the listing before posting
  6. Click Submit Resume to post your resume to the Resume Database visible to registered employers

Important: if you do NOT want your resume visible to employers, see the ‘Editing a Resume’ section below for details on how to hide the resume

Step-by-Step Tutorial – Editing a Resume

Once you’ve posted a resume to the A.CRE Job Board, it will likely be necessary from time to time to edit, hide, or delete the resume(s) you have posted.

  1. To edit, hide, or delete a resume, go to ‘Manage Resume‘
  2. A list of posted resumes will appear
  3. Choose to either ‘Edit’, ‘Hide’, or ‘Delete’ a resume;
    1. Editing the resume will take you back to the Resume Details section where you can change any of the inputs entered during the resume upload process
    2. Hiding the resume removes the resume from the Resume Database, making it invisible to employers. A hidden resume will stay be available to you when applying for available jobs
    3. Deleting the resume will remove the resume from the website entirely.

Frequently Asked Questions about Posting and Editing a Resume on the A.CRE Job Board

How do I start posting a resume on the A.CRE Job Board?

To begin, you must log in or register for an account. Then, go to the “Post a Resume” page where you’ll enter your resume details such as name, contact email, professional title, and location.

What should I include in the “Professional Title” and “Objective” fields?

The Professional Title should be short and descriptive (e.g. “Experienced Development Professional”). The Objective is optional and should describe your career goals (e.g. “Experienced multifamily acquisitions professional seeks director-level position at real estate private equity firm.”).

Can I upload a resume file and a video resume?

Yes, you can upload your resume in .PDF or .DOCX format and optionally provide a URL to a video resume in the “Video and Resume File” section of the form.

How can I make my resume visible or hidden to employers?

To hide your resume from the Resume Database (so employers cannot see it), go to ‘Manage Resume’ and click ‘Hide’ next to the resume you want to conceal. The resume will remain available for job applications but won’t be publicly visible.

How do I edit or delete my resume after it’s been posted?

Go to the ‘Manage Resume’ section. There you can choose to Edit, Hide, or Delete a resume. Editing returns you to the resume form to make changes; deleting removes the resume completely from the site.

What if I don’t have all the information for every section?

Not all fields are required. Sections like Education and Experience are optional if you upload a full resume file. You can skip optional fields and still submit a complete listing.

Can I update my resume after submitting it?

Yes. At any time, go to ‘Manage Resume’, click ‘Edit’, and make updates to your existing resume.

Is there a cost to post my resume on A.CRE?

No, posting your resume is completely free and gives you visibility with top commercial real estate employers.
